Source: Owen County, Indiana Cemetery Listings

Abandoned church that was in Clay Township, Section 20 NE quarter. The frame was standing as recently as 1983. A cemetery still exists, with many veterans from as many wars buried here. There are about 100 unmarked graves, and another 50 graves with only field rocks and sandstone rocks from the creek for markers. As of April 1976 this cemetery was not taken care of regularly, but had been recently cleaned. That year a listing of all stones was created by the following: Gilbert Eugene Edwards, James Marvin Edwards, William Dewey Deem, and Mrs. Marlinda Sue (Cross) Edwards. There is a family plot for the Boon family that contains seven graves, including that of London W. Boon, the son of Zilpha Boon. According to word of mouth at least twenty additional Black people are buried by the fence near the road.
